Product Designer
Product Designers decide how a product looks, feels and behaves.

Don't just read it — play it
Clock in at 9am and make the calls a Product Designer makes all day. Six decisions, real consequences, a score at 5pm.
What this role really is
Product Design is UX plus visual craft plus product thinking. You take a fuzzy problem, explore several directions, and ship the one that solves it simply. You'll defend decisions to engineers and executives, and you'll learn quickly that the prettiest option isn't always the right one.

Your 9-to-5, hour by hour
A realistic ordinary day — not the highlight reel.
9:30 AM
Exploration
Three directions for the onboarding flow, deliberately different from each other.
11:00 AM
Critique
The team pushes on direction two. You merge its clarity into direction one.
1:30 PM
Prototype
You wire it up clickable so it can be tested tomorrow.
3:00 PM
Engineering sync
You simplify one interaction after learning what it would cost to build.
4:30 PM
Design system
You add the new empty-state pattern so nobody reinvents it.
Great for you if
- You notice when things are badly designed
- You can take critique without taking it personally
- You like solving problems visually
Probably not for you if
- You want objective right answers
- You dislike defending your work
