Questions about ZEIRO, answered.
What is ZEIRO?+
A free site that answers one question before you commit to a major: is it worth it for your plans? Every major page shows typical starting pay, unemployment, whether graduates use the degree, how often more school is needed, and the jobs the major actually leads to.
Is ZEIRO free?+
Yes. Browsing all 187 majors and every job page costs nothing, and a free account unlocks the full breakdowns, your saved choices, and your plan. Nothing is behind a paywall right now.
Where does ZEIRO's data come from?+
Federal sources only: the Bureau of Labor Statistics employer wage survey and ten-year job projections, the New York Fed's college labour market data, and U.S. Census survey microdata. Each figure names the survey it came from.
What part of ZEIRO isn't government data?+
Coursework difficulty, study hours, how competitive a path feels, the AI Risk read, and the written descriptions are ZEIRO's own editorial judgement. They're labelled as our read wherever they appear, and no salary or employment figure is written by us.
Do I need an account to use ZEIRO?+
Not to look around. A free account unlocks the full detail views on a major, Ask ZEIRO grounded in your own major and goals, saved choices, and your plan.
Does ZEIRO have numbers for my school?+
Not yet. Everything on ZEIRO is national data, so it compares fairly across majors but can't quote one university's own outcomes. School-specific figures are what we're building next.
Can ZEIRO tell me which major to pick?+
It can rank majors against what you care about — pay, job security, work-life balance, difficulty — and stress-test a choice you're already weighing in Ask ZEIRO. It lays out the trade-offs; it doesn't decide for you, and it isn't a replacement for your advisor.
